Welcome to the website of the American Minority Engagement Network (“AMEN,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of amenforamerica.org and the information, materials, forms, links, and services made available through the website.
By accessing or using the website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the website.
1. About AMEN
American Minority Engagement Network is a nonprofit organization operating under Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code.
AMEN engages in civic education, community outreach, public-policy engagement, leadership and training activities, events, communications, and related activities consistent with its organizational mission.
2. Website Purpose
The AMEN website provides information about the organization, its mission, programs, activities, events, news, volunteer opportunities, resources, public-policy interests, and ways to support or communicate with AMEN.
Website content is provided for general informational, educational, organizational, and civic-engagement purposes.
Nothing on this website constitutes individualized legal, financial, tax, accounting, investment, or other professional advice. Visitors should consult an appropriate professional regarding matters requiring such advice.
3. Public-Policy and Advocacy Content
AMEN is a civic and social-welfare organization, and website content may include discussion, advocacy, commentary, educational material, or viewpoints relating to civic issues, public policy, government, elections, community affairs, or matters of public concern.
Statements presented as AMEN’s positions represent the organization’s views. Articles, quotations, linked materials, guest content, or other attributed statements may represent the views of their respective authors or sources.
Links to third-party organizations or materials do not necessarily constitute AMEN’s endorsement of every position, statement, product, service, or activity of that third party.
4. Acceptable Use
Visitors may use the website for lawful purposes consistent with these Terms.
You may not use the website, its forms, or its systems to transmit unlawful, fraudulent, threatening, defamatory, abusive, obscene, malicious, or deceptive content; distribute malware or harmful code; interfere with the website’s operation or security; impersonate another person or organization; submit materially false information; or attempt unauthorized access to AMEN’s website, systems, records, or accounts.
AMEN may restrict access, disregard submissions, or take other reasonable action in response to misuse of the website.
5. Contact, Volunteer, and Registration Forms
When submitting information through an AMEN form, you agree to provide information that is reasonably accurate and that you are authorized to provide.
Submitting a Contact, Volunteer, or event inquiry does not guarantee employment, membership, an available assignment, event admission, a partnership, a response within a particular time, or action on your request. A Volunteer inquiry alone does not authorize you to speak or act on AMEN’s behalf. Participation details and any required permissions will be arranged separately.
AMEN may contact you regarding the purpose for which you submitted the information.
Personal information submitted through the website is handled in accordance with AMEN’s Privacy Policy.
6. Mailing List
Visitors may voluntarily subscribe to AMEN newsletters and organizational communications.
By subscribing, you authorize AMEN and its email-service providers to send you communications consistent with the signup description.
You may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link provided in AMEN’s mass-email communications or by contacting AMEN.
Submitting an inquiry, volunteering, attending an event, or donating does not by itself enroll you in AMEN’s general mailing list.
7. Contributions and Donations
AMEN may provide information on the website describing methods by which supporters can make contributions, including Zelle, check, or other methods that AMEN may make available.
AMEN currently does not process credit-card payments directly through this website.
American Minority Engagement Network is a Section 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization. Contributions to AMEN are generally not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. Donors should consult their own tax adviser regarding the treatment of a contribution.
If you believe a contribution was made in error or without authorization, contact AMEN promptly with its date, amount, and payment method. AMEN will review requests individually. A correction, return, or adjustment is subject to applicable law and relevant bank or payment-service procedures; a refund is not guaranteed.
8. Events and Participation
Event registration, attendance, fees, cancellations, and refunds are governed by the information and any additional terms provided for that event. A donation does not itself register you for an event. AMEN may change or cancel an event and will communicate changes when reasonably practical using the channels available for that event.
If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should review participation requirements before you register, volunteer, or donate. Activities may require parental permission or other eligibility conditions. Photography permissions, safety requirements, and any participant releases will be addressed separately where applicable.
9. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, AMEN’s name, logo, branding, original text, graphics, designs, publications, videos, photographs owned by AMEN, and other original website materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Visitors may view and share publicly available AMEN materials for lawful, noncommercial informational purposes provided that the material is not misleadingly altered and appropriate attribution is maintained where applicable.
Nothing in these Terms grants permission to use AMEN’s name, logo, trademarks, or branding in a manner that suggests sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, or affiliation without AMEN’s permission.
Third-party photographs, logos, quotations, documents, videos, and other materials remain the property of their respective owners.
You retain ownership of material you submit to AMEN and authorize its use as reasonably necessary to handle your inquiry or requested activity. Permission to publish a testimonial, photograph, or other submitted material will be addressed separately.
10. Third-Party Websites and Services
The website may contain links to third-party websites or use third-party services including Google, Sender, social-media platforms, financial institutions, video-hosting services, and other providers.
AMEN does not control those services and is not responsible for their availability, security, content, policies, accuracy, or practices.
Your use of a third-party website or service is governed by that third party’s own terms and policies.
11. Accuracy of Information
AMEN seeks to provide useful and accurate information but does not guarantee that every item on the website will always be complete, current, error-free, or suitable for every purpose.
Dates, events, programs, links, public-policy information, and other content may change over time.
AMEN may correct, update, remove, or revise website content without prior notice.
12. Website Availability
AMEN does not guarantee continuous or uninterrupted access to the website.
The website may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, hosting issues, security measures, technical problems, updates, circumstances outside AMEN’s control, or other reasons.
AMEN may modify, suspend, replace, or discontinue portions of the website as reasonably necessary.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the website and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
AMEN makes no warranty that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or free from harmful components, or that all information will remain current or accurate at all times.
Nothing in this section limits any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AMEN and its officers, directors, volunteers, employees, representatives, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising solely from use of, inability to use, or reliance upon the website or third-party resources linked from the website.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or any liability or right that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited. These website Terms do not replace event-specific agreements.
15. Privacy
Use of the website is also subject to AMEN’s Privacy Policy, which explains how AMEN handles personal information associated with the website and related services.
If these Terms and the Privacy Policy address the same privacy matter, the Privacy Policy governs AMEN’s handling of personal information.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where another law must apply.
Any dispute relating to these Terms will be handled in an appropriate court or forum with jurisdiction, subject to applicable law.
17. Changes to These Terms
AMEN may revise these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
Updates apply prospectively when the revised Terms are posted with an updated effective date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law. AMEN will provide additional notice or request agreement when required by applicable law. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
